Pedisafe is an aesthetic treatment for reconstructing and remodelling damaged or unsightly nails, it was developed by a Canadian cosmetics company Fan Fair Cosmetiques. It can be used on both the hands and feet as a simple protective overlay and is a safe and effective treatment.
It is suitable for:
Fungal nails
Discoloured /thick nails
Cracked or damaged nails from trauma
Trauma from ingrown tow nail surgery
Psoriatic nails
Treatment Benefits
Benefits from treatment include promoting healthy growth and improved well being from the perceived stress of damaged and unsightly nails. It can be left natural or a gel nail polish can be applied over the nail afterwards.
Ideal for that special occasion or as a regular long term wear.
How is it done?
The procedure is carried out by a Podiatrist/FHP who is trained in Pedisafe nail reconstruction.
Gel layers are applied to the nail bed to recreate the appearance of a nail and due to it's flexibility it can with stand the pressures from daily life unlike acrylic based products which can damage the nail bed.
How long does it last?
This depends on the amount of nail that you have left, on average it can last 6 -8 weeks with proper after care. If you have very little nail left it may only last a few days due to natural sweat and oil secretions. It is recommended in this case that you keep the nail for days you want to wear it and apply it with nail glue.
